If you missed the last edition of Danceletter Picks, catch up here.
It’s about to be that time of year where if you want to see dance in New York, you have basically two choices: The Nutcracker (most illustriously, George Balanchine’s) and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, whose annual City Center season includes that other enduring holiday dance tradition, Revelations. We are not there quite yet, though commentary on both might be forthcoming in a future edition of this newsletter. For now, here is some decidedly non-holiday-themed fare (with one exception).
Coming up:
animals & giraffes: Claudia La Rocco and Phillip Greenlief with Brian Rogers, Rashaun Mitchell + Silas Riener at the Chocolate Factory, Dec. 12
Caleb Teicher, Bzzz at the Joyce Theater, Dec. 12-17
Koma Otake, You at Danspace Project at St. Mark’s Church, Dec. 14-16
